I’ll Fly Away – Lyrics

Posted in Devotionals, Disability, Hymns / Songs / Lyrics at 8:39 pm by Sarah Bosse

Some bright morning when this life is over
I’ll fly away
To that home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away

   I’ll fly away oh glory
I’ll fly away (in the morning)
When I die hallelujah by and by
   I’ll fly away

When the shadows of this life have gone
I’ll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I’ll fly
I’ll fly away

Oh how glad and happy when we meet
I’ll fly away
No more cold iron shackles on my feet
I’ll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then
I’ll fly away
To a land where joys will never end
I’ll fly away

—————————————————————————————————————-

May I add a few verses?  (Your answer should be, “Sure you can!! …Have at it!!”)

Like a bird from this wheelchair I’ll flee
I’ll fly away
No more cold iron crutches ’round my feet
I’ll fly away

   I’ll fly away oh glory
I’ll fly away (in the morning)
When I die hallelujah by and by
   I’ll fly away

With new strength I’ll sing this freedom song
I’ll fly away
Christ will be my Joy all day long
I’ll fly away

When God’s trumpet sounds that final blast
I’ll fly away
Only my Savior’s blood shall hold me fast
I’ll fly away

No more sorrow, no more sin and pain
I’ll fly away
For eternity, grace only I will gain
I’ll fly away
