Give Me Jesus

Posted in Devotionals, Hymns / Songs / Lyrics at 12:08 pm by Sarah Bosse

I love the simplicity of this song.  It speaks the words of a broken, humbled, quieted heart before the Lord.  A quiet heart will voice no desires other than to have and behold Jesus Christ.  A broken and humbled heart will find no satisfaction in anything less than the fullness of Jesus Christ and His presence, His Word, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

This particular rendition of the song is also a tribute to Ruth Graham, the wife of Evangelist and Pastor Billy Graham.

Give Me Jesus
by Fernando Ortega

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus
